Starting up Mass again

We are able to gather again to celebrate being Church.

On 25th May the Cabinet announced that the number of people able to gather together has been raised to 100.  This will allow us to resume Masses again on our normal timetable throughout all the churches and gathering places for worship in the Parish.  However because of the restriction of 100 people gathering in one space at any one time we will put in place the following temporary measures to accommodate the new situation:

Weekday Masses will commence at St Francis Xavier Church on Friday 29th May (12.10 pm.) Sunday Masses  will commence on Saturday 30th May  at the normal times of  6.00pm Saturday night and 8.00am and 10.00am Sunday.  There will be an extra mass at midday on Sunday while the restriction of 100 is in place.

For Sunday  as  well as a Mass there will also be a Liturgy of the Word with Holy Communion(LOWC) in the Parish Hall (with communion brought over from the Mass  in the church.) This will enable up to 200 people to attend a service of some kind at each of the normal Mass times.

If you wish to attend Mass you will need to book by contacting the Parish Office  (09 4377902) so that we can register your contact details and ensure you of a place at Mass. If the mass bookings are full you will be invited to attend either another Mass or a  Liturgy of the Word in the Hall.  We may not be able to provide Mass for everyone who comes on Sunday but we hope to be able to provide an opportunity for you to hear the Word of God proclaimed and receive the Eucharist.

Masses and LOWHC at other locations in the parish will happen at the normal times.  In each of these places we will provide a sheet for signing so that contact tracing can happen if needed.  We will also need to ensure that proper cleaning can happen at the end of each mass/ liturgy.

Please be kind to each other  including those who have the task of booking mass times this weekend and those who will be directing you to seating arrangements in the venues.

But in order to ensure the safety of others :  If you do not feel well or have been in contact with anyone with Covid-19 we ask that you stay at home.

We are looking forward to being together again as the Church assembly gathered for worship
